A 37-year-old Wichita man has been sentenced to five years in prison for a drunken driving crash that killed a woman and injured two others
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A Wichita man who was driving drunk when he hit another car, killing one person and injuring two others, was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison.
Jeremy Crowder, 37, was pleaded guilty in May to involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence and two counts of aggravated battery.
Prosecutors said Crowder ran a red light in Wichita and collided with another vehicle on March 19, 2019.
A passenger in the second car, Yvonne Recchio, 57, died at the scene. Her husband and another passenger were hospitalized.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney's office said Crowder's blood alcohol level at the time of the crash was more than double the legal limit.
